Step 1: Open Photoshop and do File-->Open to open the image of your book cover
Step 2: Use the Quick Selection and Lasso tools to highlight the objects in your image that you want to separate.
Step 3: Once you have your object highlighted, right+click (or Control+click) to do "Layer via Cut"
Step 4: Continue this until you have successfully cut out all the elements you will animate
Step 5: Use the Clone Stamp tool to repair all of the cut out backgrounds
Step 6: Import the .PSD to Adobe Flash
Step 7: Remember that to add a new animation to an object, you need to add Keyframes to your timeline and then use the Shape Tween function to create the path for movement. For further clarification about how to apply keyframes and shape tweens, click here.
Step 8: You will use the Free Transform tool to do most of your movements. You can make your objects rotate, resize, or distort using the handles (the little squares).
