Spring 2019 SLCs
March is rapidly approaching and the second quarter is well under way and SLC’s are around the corner. SLCs are conversations occurring between you and your student. Teachers are there to facilitate the discussions and clarify questions anyone may have. Here are some things that you can look forward to during your student's SLC:
Your student will be spending advisory time, as well as receiving homework in order to prepare for this important discussion. You are a very important component of this conversation. Try to come prepared with questions to ask your student, concerns you may have for him/her, recommendations/suggestions you may have, things that you have noticed, etc. We hope you find this dialogue invaluable and look forward to seeing you soon.
Warm regards,

- SLCs are a great opportunity for you to ask questions about your student's progress in school.
- SLCs are a great opportunity to look at the work your student has producing in class so far.
- SLCs are a great opportunity to listen to what your student thinks about his/her classes and progress in school so far.
- If your student seems to be struggling, SLCs are a great time to set goals for your student, with your student.
- If your student has been excelling and maybe feels he/she is not being challenged enough, SLCs are a great time to brainstorm ways in which the student can be challenged and make the most of his/her education.
- If you would like to spend more time with the teacher to discuss your student's education, please set up an appointment by contacting the teacher through e-mail. Also keep in mind every teacher has Office Hours which are available to all students and parents.
