Flash 3.0 Assignment
Create a 0:15 second animation utilizing the Bone Tool showing a Stick figure running and doing some action. Some examples might include:
The action should result in some sort of conclusion. For example, a figure running around a track wins a race, or a figure chasing their dog trips when the dog stops suddenly. Illustration quality is not paramount, I want to see you use the Bone Tool effectively and tell a short story in the time that is available.

In this activity, you will take what you learned in the previous exercises to create your own version of the running man. You will learn a new tool: the Bone Tool, and experiment to make it function effectively for you. Follow the tutorial below to learn how to use the Bone Tool and apply it to the Assignment outlined above.
- Leaving a bank robbery
- Running during a sport (soccer, track, baseball, etc)
- Chasing their dog around the yard

Step 1: Open Flash and Create a New ActionScript 3.0 project.
Step 2:
A) Use your brush tool to draw a Stickman.
B) Rename Layer 1 to "Stickman"
C) Change the Brush thickness to a desired size for your stickman.

Step 3: Highlight your stickman and then click on the Bone Tool to activate.
Step 4: To use the bone tool, click and drag starting in the center of the stick figure body. You will stop each line when you get to the end of a joint. Notice that the "bone" goes from thick to thin as you near the end of a joint.

Also, notice that Flash has created a new layer called, "Armature" and placed a keyframe in Frame 1. This is the layer that you will use to edit your movements.
Step 5: Next, in order to add movements, you will go down your timeline a number of frames and Control+click (or right click) to "Insert Pose". This will help you change the characters movements.
When you are changing the position or placement of an extremity, you will see the bone light up green indicating that it is being moved.
